Why Use Graphite Molds To Make Glasswork Or Glass Craft

Because the graphite material has chemical stability, which is not easy to be infiltrated by molten glass, and will not change the composition of glass. Meanwhile, graphite material has good heat-resistant impact performance, and its size changes with the temperature and other characteristics, the graphite material and related products are widely used in the glass manufacturing, has become an indispensable mold material. The graphite mold can be used to make glass tube, bend tube, funnel and other kinds of special shaped glass bottle casting mold.

The advantage of the graphite products in glass work and craft are mainly as below,

1. Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity.

2. Low linear expansion coefficient, good thermal stability and heat impact resistance.

3. Chemical corrosion resistance and most metals are not easy to react.

4. At high temperature (most copper matrix sintering temperature above 800℃), the strength increases with the increase of temperature.

5. Good lubrication and wear resistance.

6. Easy to process, good mechanical processing performance, can be made into a complex shape, high precision mold.
