Graphite mold is a commonly used mold material, because graphite has good thermal conductivity, high temperature resistance and self-lubrication, so that it is widely used in the field of mold processing. The following is the general processing technology of graphite mold:
Design and processing preparation: According to product requirements and design requirements, mold design and drawing. Determine the mold size, structure and processing technology, and prepare the raw materials and tools required for processing.
Graphite material selection: Select the appropriate graphite material, usually using high purity, fine grain isostatic graphite or plasma graphite. According to specific needs, different grades and densities of graphite materials can be selected.
Processing shape: According to the mold design drawings, the graphite billet is cut and trimmed by mechanical processing or CNC processing equipment, and the mold billet is processed into an approximate final shape.
Fine processing: The use of CNC processing equipment, such as EDM machine tools, end milling machines, lathes, etc., to carry out detailed processing of graphite blanks, including hole processing, chamfering, groove processing, etc., in order to achieve the accuracy and surface quality requirements of the mold.
Surface treatment: In order to improve the surface finish and wear resistance of the mold, surface treatment can be carried out. Common methods include polishing, grinding, electroplating, etc.
Heat treatment: For some graphite molds with special requirements, heat treatment can be carried out, such as graphite nitriding, graphite carbonization, etc., to improve its hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Assembly and debugging: Assemble the processed graphite mold, and carry out the necessary debugging and testing to ensure that it meets the requirements of product processing.
It is important to note that each specific graphite mold processing process may vary depending on the application field, size and complexity. In actual operation, it is also necessary to select the appropriate process and equipment according to the specific situation, and strictly control the parameters during the processing to ensure that the final graphite mold has high precision, good surface quality and durability.
