How to judge the purity of graphite

The purity of graphite refers to the content of impurities in graphite, which is usually judged by chemical analysis or physical testing methods. Here are some common methods:

Chemical analysis: The content of impurity elements in graphite is analyzed by chemical method. Common analytical methods include spark atomic absorption spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and so on.

X-ray diffraction method: The use of X-ray diffraction patterns to determine the crystallinity and purity of graphite, this method usually requires the use of high-precision X-ray diffraction instruments.

Thermogravimetry: The thermal properties and purity of graphite are evaluated by heating a graphite sample and measuring the relationship between the change in sample weight and the change in temperature.

Transmission electron microscope observation method: The microstructure and impurity distribution in graphite were observed by transmission electron microscope to evaluate the purity and structure of graphite.

Gas chromatography: The graphite sample is heated and decomposed, and the decomposition products are analyzed by gas chromatography instruments to assess the impurity content of the sample.

The purity judgment of graphite needs to be comprehensively evaluated by different analytical methods according to the specific situation. Because of the advantages and disadvantages of different methods and the scope of application are different, it is recommended to select a variety of methods for testing, and combined with the actual needs and application environment to make a comprehensive judgment.
