1. As a refractory material. Graphite rods and their products have the properties of high temperature resistance and high strength. They are mainly used in the metallurgical industry to make graphite crucibles. In steelmaking, graphite is often used as a protective agent for steel ingots and as a lining for metallurgical furnaces.

2. Used as fireproof filler. Expandable graphite rod is a kind of graphite rod interlayer compound obtained by chemical or electrochemical treatment. Under heated conditions, the expandable graphite rod expands rapidly in volume and suffocates the flame. At the same time, it generates expansions to isolate the flame and delay or interrupt the spread of the flame. It is non-combustible, has good flexibility, high appearance and good strength of the carbonized layer.

3. As an anti-corrosion material. Graphite rods have good corrosion resistance to chemicals and solvents. If chemical pigments such as zinc yellow are added to the formula, the anti-rust effect will be better; and the anti-rust primer made of carbon black, talcum powder and oil has superior anti-corrosion performance.

4. Used as conductive material. Graphite rods are used in the electrical industry to manufacture electrodes, brushes, carbon rods, carbon tubes, positive electrodes of mercury positive current devices, ink washers, telephone parts, and coatings for television picture tubes.

5. As a wear-resistant lubricating material. Graphite rods are often used as lubricants in the machinery industry and can be used under high-speed, high-temperature, and high-pressure conditions.

6. Used for casting, sand-finding, pressing molds and high-temperature metallurgical materials: due to the small thermal expansion coefficient of graphite rods and the ability to withstand rapid cold and rapid heat changes, it can be used as a mold for glassware. After graphite is used, ferrous metals can be used to obtain castings with precise dimensions and a smooth surface.
