Graphite crucible should avoid high temperature and cold
Feb 18, 2024
Graphite crucible is usually used in high temperature experiments or melting metal and other processes, because of its high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and other characteristics. In the laboratory, it is usually not recommended to put the high-temperature graphite crucible into cold water immediately, which is easy to lead to thermal shock fission of the graphite crucible, affecting the service life.
When the graphite crucible is in a high temperature state, if it needs to be cooled or cleaned, the following steps are recommended:
Naturally cool the graphite crucible slowly to room temperature to avoid sudden cold.
Wash gently with warm water at room temperature, avoiding cold or overheated water.
Avoid using chemical solvents or acid and alkali solutions to clean the graphite crucible, so as not to damage the surface.
In general, the high-temperature graphite crucible needs to pay attention to slow cooling and gentle cleaning after use, in order to protect the performance of the graphite crucible and extend the service life.
